Abstract
The study investigated the impact of communal crises on the educational development of Benue State. A case study of Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo Local Government. The study was guided by four research questions and adopted a survey research design. A sample of two hundred respondents were used for the study. 20 items structured questionnaire constructed by the researcher titled “Impact of Communal Crisis on Educational Development of Benue State” (ICCEDBS), was used to collect data. Mean and standard deviations were used to answer research questions, while chi-square test were used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The results of the study revealed that communal crises have significant impact on physical infrastructure of schools, students' enrollment, teachers' commitment to work and students' school attendance among others. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that government will create more job opportunities for the teeming youths, vigorous public enlightment programme by government and non-governmental organizations on ethnic and inter-group relations, security agencies will be trained on crises management and elites who have been manipulating ethnic crises will be identified and brought to justice
