Author Guidelines

Manuscript Submission:

Publication Frequency: Continuous

Digital platforms enable the immediate publication of articles as soon as they are ready—after being peer-reviewed, typeset, and proofread—without the need to wait for a specific issue release on a monthly, bimonthly, or annual basis. This approach accelerates the review and publication process. Articles published this way can still be organized into issues. If grouped, the most recently published article will appear at the top of the issue until a new article is accepted.

Submission Deadline: No submission deadline.

Article Processing Charges (APC): To support open-access publishing, an Article Processing Charge (APC) may be required. This fee covers the costs associated with peer review, editing, and publication. Authors from low-income countries may qualify for waivers or discounts. For articles not covered by sponsorship, there is a handling fee of ₦40,000 for Nigerian scholars and $30 for international scholars. However, when issues are funded by agencies such as TETFUND or when the journal receives a grant, there is NO publication or handling fees. In such cases, the issue will be made available FREE OF CHARGE, with the research community notified in advance about the free availability.

Types of Manuscripts

The BSP Advances in Science, Engineering, and Technology accepts the following types of submissions:

Original Research Articles: In-depth studies presenting new and original findings.

Review Articles: Comprehensive overviews of specific topics, summarizing existing literature and proposing future research directions.

Case Studies: Reports on specific cases that provide valuable insights into a particular field.

Short Communications: Brief reports of significant findings or methodological advances.

Technical Notes: Descriptions of innovative techniques, procedures, or equipment relevant to the journal's scope.

Theoretical Essays: Scholarly writings that explore concepts, models, or frameworks within a specific discipline. These essays often propose new theories or refine existing ones, critically analyzing and synthesizing current knowledge. They aim to advance understanding by challenging conventional wisdom or introducing innovative perspectives.

Book Reviews: Critical assessments of recently published books within a particular field. These reviews summarize the book's content, evaluate its contributions, and discuss its strengths and weaknesses. They help readers determine the book's relevance to their work or studies and provide insights into the broader academic discourse.

Special Issues: Collections of articles centered around a specific theme, topic, or emerging area of research, curated by guest editors. These issues provide a comprehensive overview of the chosen topic, highlighting current trends, challenges, and future directions. They serve as a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners interested in focused areas of study.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. The following sections outline the required structure and formatting.

Title Page

Title: Concise and informative, with a maximum of 20 words.

Author(s): Full names of all authors, with their affiliations. The corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk (*).

Affiliations: Include department, institution, city, and country.

Corresponding Author: Provide an email address and phone number.

Keywords: 4-6 keywords that accurately reflect the manuscript's content.

Abstract: The abstract should be a single paragraph of 150-250 words, summarizing the research objectives, methodology, main findings, and conclusions. It should be understandable without reference to the main text.

Main Text: The main text should be organized into the following sections:

Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and significance. Provide a brief review of relevant literature.

Materials and Methods: A detailed description of the materials, experimental procedures, and analytical techniques used, detailed enough to allow replication of the study.

Results: Present the study's findings, using tables, figures, and statistical analysis where appropriate.

Discussion: Interpret the results in the context of existing knowledge, highlighting the study's significance, implications, and limitations.

Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and suggest directions for future research.

Acknowledgments: Recognize any funding sources, institutional support, or individuals who contributed to the work but are not listed as authors.

References: Use the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) citation style as specified by the journal. References should be numbered in the order they appear in the text.

References: The IEEE style is a widely used citation and referencing format in technical and engineering disciplines. It uses a numbered system for in-text citations, where references are listed in the order of their appearance in the text.

In-Text Citations: Indicated by numbers in square brackets within the text. The number corresponds to the full reference listed at the end of the document. If a source is cited multiple times, the same number is used.

Example: "This technique was first introduced in [1]."

Reference List: Appears at the end of the document, with entries numbered in the order they were cited. Each reference provides detailed information about the source. The format varies depending on the type of source (journal article, book, conference paper, etc.).

Common Reference Formats

  1. Journal Articles

   - Format: [1] Author(s), "Title of paper," Journal Name, vol. X, no. X, pp. XX-XX, Month, Year.

   - Example: [1] J. K. Author, "Title of the article," IEEE Trans. on Communications, vol. 56, no. 1, pp. 45-50, Jan. 2023.

  1. Books

   - Format: [2] Author(s), Title of Book, Xth ed. City of Publisher, (only U.S. State Abbrev.), Country: Publisher, Year, pp. XX-XX.

   - Example: [2] A. B. Author, Title of the Book, 3rd ed. New York, NY, USA: Wiley, 2020, pp. 123-130.

  1. Conference Papers
